Long before Jill LaCorte started playing tennis, she had a great sense of style — clean, classic and smart. After her second son was born, she started playing tennis to get back into shape. She loved it. Just three weeks after the birth of her third son, she was back playing in her first tournament. Clearly, she was addicted. Now, five years later, Jill is a fiercely competitive league player and a sectional finalist in 2005.

With her daily tennis habit came a daily tennis dilemma — carrying her racquets and gear in the standard-fare, over-sized, nylon or vinyl, logo-emblazoned tennis bags went against every aesthetic fiber in her body. She tried to re-purpose other, more fashionable totes for tennis, but they just weren't designed for the job. After searching high and low for the right bag, Jill realized that if she wanted a stylish bag, made for tennis, she was going to have to make it herself. Thus, Cortiglia, LLC was born.

Building on her education at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Jill began designing tennis bags in her Northern California home, trying them out on friends and re-working the designs. She spent months sourcing the finest materials and craftsmanship in the world; top grain leathers, elegant nylon and beautifully crafted hardware.
